About the Department

The Department of Mathematics, one of the oldest departments of Dibru College, was established in 1963 with the goal to promote quality education. One of the major objectives of the department is to provide opportunities for young minds to build a solid foundation for higher mathematics.  Since its establishment, the department maintains its standard in educating students and has served as a leading department of the college. Honours (Major) in Mathematics was first introduced in the college in 1971 and the same was affiliated to Dibrugarh University in 1971.  The department is always indebted to the retired faculty members Late Kanteswar Talukdar, Late Surjya Kr. Das, Dr. Asotosh Bhattacharjee, Smt. Bina Bora, Sri Pradeep Chetia Phukan for their outstanding contribution in educating the students in a vibrant way. The department has produced a good number of well-established alumni who are servicing the nation in various reputed institutions/organizations.

The department offers TDC/FYUGP BA/BSc programmes in Mathematics as per the latest curriculum provided by Dibrugarh University.
