About the Department
The department of Economics came into being with the inception of the College. At present the department is having four faculty members with two PhD. holders. The department runs a full time BA major Program designed and developed by Dibrugarh University to which this institution had been affiliated.
The department assesses the learning levels of the students and organizes special Programmes for advanced learners and slow learners. (2.2.1)
The Department of Economics has been organizing special progrmmes for advanced learners and slow learners as given below:
We have been taking special classes over and above the allotted classes for the advanced as well as slow learners from time to time after verifying their ability, adaptability etc. to the subject taught. The task of mentorship has been done by each permanent faculty member by making separate groups of students from each Semester. Guest lectures have been arranged from renowned academics and industry experts to deliver lectures on specialized topics relevant for today. Debates and competitions have been conducted to showcase skills of students. For Slow Learners, remedial classes have been taken to provide additional support to them.
