About the Department
The Department of statistics was Established in: 1995. The 1st batch of students were enrolled in the 1995 -96 August session.
Objective: The primary objective of the Subject is to prepare students to enter into a promising professional life such as decision maker, sports analyst, business analyst, risk management , actuarial scientist and many more. It also provide them a platform for pursuing advanced studies leading to Post Graduate and subsequent Doctorate degrees. Statistics facilitate the decision making process by quantifying the elements of chances or uncertainties thereby it is an indispensable part of almost all the disciplines of the contemporary world.
Vision and Mission
– Aims to contribute to the [local/global] community by addressing social/cultural/scientific needs.
– Strives to develop students into [responsible professionals/informed citizens] and enrich their lives.
Courses and Syllabus
– Offers courses such as:
– B.A. & B.Sc. in both Core and Minor as well as Generic.
– Courses including computer skill Enhancement courses like MS EXCEL, computing aided software SPSS, R etc.
